29 Dec 2004:

FantoFan got a copy of the special secret DVD given out by Toys R Us for purchase of GC-01 Galaxy Convoy and to our surprise, it contained promotional clips not found in the TV Magazine Special Secret DVD. The Galaxy Force promotional clip on the DVD is the same as the one that was shown in Tokyo Entertainment Market 2004 back in October, although strangely enough the narration and op theme was replaced by the G1 classic theme song.
For a limited time, we have put up some high-res clips from the Galaxy Force part onthe DVD (which also contain the Robotmasters and Beast Wars Returns highlights) on the Galaxy Force page. Enjoy!!

As before, we welcome any TF sites out there who wish to host the clips and help spread the love to contact us, we will be glad to transfer the clips to the sites who are interested.

Latest issue of Newtype out today, inside contain some more info on the upcoming Galaxy Force TV series. Besides a few interesting pictures, some background was revealed about the story too. Apprantely instead of a continuation of Superlink as reported previously, Galaxy Force will be a new start. (Properly on another new "parallel" alternate reality.)

[Spoiler] A gigantic black hole has swallowed the planet of Cybertron and began devouring on the rest of the universe. Escaped from their doomed homeplanet, a group of Transformers hid on Earth disguised as Earth's vehicles. The leader of the group, Galaxy Convoy came in contact with an ancient Transformer, Vector Prime. There he learnt the existence of Planet Force, an ancient artifact capable of reformatting a planet. At the same time, after the same Planet Force, Master Megatron and his Decepticons have also come to Earth. Helping Galaxy Convoy and his Autobots are 3 humans, Colby, Bert, Lolly (translation subject to change).
An interesting observation can be made on the 3 characters designs featured in the article, not only do they have almost identical designs to the their Micron Legend/Superlink counterparts, they have the same names too. Jetfire (Galaxy Force Dreadnought?), Red Alert and Landmine. Coincidence? Mistake? or perhaps there is a link after all?

Newtype, Animage and Animedia can be ordered here.

23 Oct 2004:

At the Tokyo Entertainment Market 2004 held this weekend, Takara booth revealed the toyline and video clips from the Galaxy Force series. Unfortunately Takara has prohibited any photos or video been taken on the new line, while we always believed that picture is worth a thousand words, we would respect Takara's wishes and will not release all the images we have on Galaxy Force. On display there is a full color Galaxy Convoy and Master Megatron figures, other prototype figures like Dreadnought and Thrundercracker are also displayed. While Master Megatron Robot mode seems a bit taller than Galaxy Convoy Robot mode, the vehicle mode of Megatron is much bigger than truck mode of Convoy. A video clip from the TV series was also showed, showing off transformation sequence of Master Megatron, Galaxy Convoy and Starscream, Starscream battle with Galaxy Convoy, as well as still shots of all the characters in the show (mini teaser, Galaxy Convoy's Matrix Blast(WMV)). Looking at the toys and video clips first hand, the team at FantoFan has to say Galaxy Force is going to be hard to disappoint, unless they really screw up the plot.

We have also secured a few event exclusive items for sale here, the popular Transformers Autobots leaders giant poster (Autobot giant sticker not included) (US$20), Takara original Autobot Big insignia sticker (US$8), Takara original Autobot insignia sticker set (US$8), Takara original Decepticon insignia sticker set (US$8). Guessed it's a "lucky Draw News day", one of our local FantoFan editors is the winner of the Lucky Draw Kicker Energon Edition!! The Lucky Draw was held in August and one has to entered it by collecting tokens from the first 2 volumes of Superlink DVD and the Soundtrack CD, then mailing in using the entry form from Superlink DVD vol. 3. Not an easy procedure and he sure deserve this really nice repaint, even nicer of him is he allowed us to put up a gallery of this rare (again) piece for fans to enjoy!! For starters, feast your eyes and drool on a rag-tag gallery while we try to make a high-res one!! Thanks & Congratulations to M.T.!!

FantoFan is please to announce that we have a winner from the Transformers Generations Deluxe Lucky Draw which we have entered on behalf of the fan. That is right!! The fan, name witheld by request, is one of the 100 lucky winners of Gold Chrome Primus. We entered the lucky draw for several fans back in July and the prize was shipped to those who won (in Japan) from September, unfortunately we only recieved one winner this time from this draw. We have notified the winner and will be shipping this really rare item to him(or her) without any charge on the item!! Congratulations to the one on winning this rare piece of collection.

With this experience, we have also refined the identification and labelling so we have proper proof to show that the winner is indeed given to the proper applicant. As before, there are some rules involved and applicants are to understand that it is afterall a lucky draw, therefore more than likely they would not win anything almost everytime. We also reserve the right to provide this service for certain lucky draws of our choice and not meant for all lucky draws in Japan. Service will be offer to those who have a good track record with us and trust FantoFan.

There are currently no open lucky draws applicable for this service, the ongoing one is the recently ended RM G1 Convoy/Superlink Wing Convoy coloring contest by TV Magazine and Toys R Us Japan, result is expected to be reveal on 1 Nov. Good luck to those whom we have entered!!

To those fans who are still looking for the limited edition TV Magazine Exclusive Fire SL Grand Convoy and TV Magazine Exclusive Black Rodimus Convoy, stay tuned to the For-Sale page this weekend as we will be listing some final stocks on the 2 items, orders will be first come first serve, and quantity is very limited (1-2). As informed by one of our local Japanese friend, W.T., the lucky draw God Primus has been shipped to winners today!! He was kind enough to take a few pictures and sent it to us. Check out some shots as follows, 1, 2, 3. The text on the box described the profile of Primus, as best as we could, here is the translation:

"God of Good: Primus:
Primus was first featured in the UK Marvel comics as the universe's god of good. In an epic battle with the evil entity Unicron, Primus was able to contain Unicron into a planet, but he also paid the price by becoming a planet himself which became Cybertron where Transformers were "born". Primus created the Transformers to become warriors that one day could fight Unicron if he awakes.
In 2005, Hot Rod who came in contact with the Matrix containing the essence of Primus, was reformatted by his power and became Rodimus Prime. The reformat and upgrade also altered his look to resemble that of Primus, some say that perhaps Primus was reborn through Rodimus Prime."

Interestingly the instruction sheet is in English, apparantly taken from Hasbro Commemorative series, although the stickers is the Japanese version. There is no tech spec card included. If our friend allowed us to take more pictures, we will bring you a gallery of this lucky draw exclusive soon.

For those who have entered the lucky draw through us, unfortunately we did not recieve anything today. Hopefully we might get something tomorrow...or not.

1 Sep 2004:

Latest issue of Hyper Hobby, TV Magazine and TV Boy were out today. Check out some updates on upcoming Transformers releases and you can order these titles here.

Hyper Hobby:
1. Main focus on their exclusive Robotmaster Black Beast Megatron, with the same ordering system as the other magazine exclusives, as with the other 3, FantoFan will take orders for fans who are interested to get it (US$42 each). Interesting to note is that the first pictures of the "arsenal weapon" gold chrome version were shown. Cool view of beast mode of the exclusive.
2. Some more new detail shots of upcoming Robotmasters Smokesniper and Gigantobomb.
3. Some new additional info were revealed about Robotmasters world, like G1 Megatron was indeed in the RM world, but he mysteriously disappeared right after the discovery of "Solutrium". "Arsenal Weapons" that came with the Decepticons were actually powered by the spark energy of the wielder. Another last bit of news is those Silver chrome weapons that came with some of the Autobot Robotmasters were designed based on the weapons used in 80's Marvel Comics Transformers, although the weapons were not used by the same characters.
4. Picture showing the upcoming reissue Insecticons holding Energon cubes in their cockpits... Insecticons will be releasing end of Sep.
5. Cover art of upcoming Superlink DVD vol. 5, to be release on 15 Sep.
6. Countdown to the release of BT-08 Meister and the eyes details behind visor.
7. Spotlight on soon to be released Superlink Omega Supreme.
8. As previously reported, Kabaya will be releasing Hyper Transformers featuring Omega Supreme, Wing Convoy Cannon mode and Superion. Due out late Sep. (US$4 each)
Check out more pictures and other toys news by ordering the title here.

TV Magazine:
1. As reported before, this month's TV Magazine comes with the details for the exclusive Superlink Black Rodimus Convoy.
2. This month's Superlink report focus on Omega Supreme, featuring an all out battle and hinting of things to come in the upcoming episodes. Described as a Legendary Giant Warrior, Omega Supreme maintained his cool even in the heat of battle, and armed to the teeth, he is a strong ally for the Autobots. some of his special attacks include "Omega Plasma Wave" and "Omega Fire".
3. Showing off the ultimate combination, Omega Convoy, and it seems to show that the combination actually increase the size to match even of Unicron!!
4. TV Magazine also featured a short 4 color Robotmasters diorama story.

TV Boy:
1. Another scene with Omega Convoy, again showing the combination form of Omega Supreme and Grand Convoy suggested an increase in size to match even of Unicron.

Check out also the latest Superlink advertisment from TV Magazine and TV Boy featuring Omega Supreme here.

29 Aug 2004:

Wonder Festival 2004 Summer was on today, while there are tons of collection for display and sale, nothing was really new related to Transformers, besides the rather small Transfomers display at Takara booth (showing only BT-08 Meister (Red and White) and Predaking), there was also the event limited Megatron Sword from Kit Factory, full die-cast version from the Superlink series, it is quite heavy and can also serve as a paper knife. Check out some shots as follows, 1, 2, 3.

In the same venue as Wonder Festival event was another event known as Toy Festival. Worthy to report is the first pictures of the lucky draw prize of Transformers Generations Deluxe promotion luck darw (now ended), Primus, which the shadow shown previously in the lucky draw details suggested that it will be a G1 Rodimus Prime repaint, the staff at the Million Publishing booth was kind enough to let us take some pictures. According to them, the item is scheduled to be ship to winners soon, winners will not be announced and only know when they receive the item. Check out some shots as follows, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Not a news but due to the positive reactions we are getting from fans on our TF-spinoff Binaltech gallery featuring Mononofu, we are working on something new in the same direction... hope everyone would enjoy it as much as Mononofu. Teaser pic "Energon Band" .

Now online!!
Fan-Translated BT-07 Smokescreen GT Tech Spec.

Fan-Translated New Chapter of Binaltech Story
Fan-Translated BT-07 Smokescreen GT System Description
Enjoy!!

25 Aug 2004:

New releases have been spotted in stores today!!
Superlink SC-21 Inferno V is now in stores, unfortunately with the new figure, there is no new versions of catalogue.
Transformers Collection 15 Targetmaster Stepper is also out.
BT-07 Smokescreen GT (2 versions) are also out. In addition to some new changes and additions to the BT-01 mold, the tech spec has been updated with new information and a new "chapter" in the Binaltech Storyline. If you think the 4 versions of Smokescreen (BT-01: no.7, no. 8, BT-07: no.1, no. 2) are just Takara's way to taunt a Completist's money, think again! The new chapter actually explained Smokescreen's "upgrade" to Smokescreen GT as well as the multiple Smokescreens (allowing different versions to exist). No doubt still a ploy to make those variations using the same mold, but at least it came with a background story, good thing or bad, we leave it to the judgement of the fans.

Fan-Translated BT-07 Smokescreen GT now online!!

For a limited time (till 1 Sep), we can take orders on the new releases.
SC-21Inferno V : US$17
BT-07 Smokescreen GT : US$42
Transformers Collection #15 Targetmaster Stepper : US$28
Does not include shipping and while stocks last, you can order here.

- Kabaya will be releasing a new series call Hyper Transformers for Superlink, with only 3 in the lineup, Wing Convoy Cannon mode, Omega Supreme and what would now be the first official picture of Aerialbots Combiner (Superlink name was not reveal). The Convoy head from Wing Convoy can also connected to Omega Supreme's body to form Omega Convoy. FantoFan is taking orders for this line, US$4 each, to be release in late Sep..

The black versions of all the 4 magazines will not be just mere repaints of the original figures but will be actual legitimate versions used in the Robotmasters plot. Figure King featured the story behind the birth of the Black versions.
"In an effort to accelerate the absorption effect of Solutrium energy, Cybertron scientists have developed a technology to achieve that which require converting their bodies into "Black body". With the black body, Transformers are able to absorb energy via the surfaces of the body instead of via designated access ports as before. Normally Transformer requiring a large amount of energy is rare and few, however, to efficiently process the infinte amount of Solutrium into data in the shortest time, the Autobots have decide to implement Black body plan. Unfortunately the Decepticon, under the leadership of Beast Megatron, learnt of this plan and initiated the same plan on themselves as well..."

The rest of the story is said to continue in each of the exclusive Black version Robotmaters, with each chapter in each figure.
You can order this really popular magazine and others here.

1 Jul 2004:

Official release of HyperHobby, TV-Boy and TV Magazine today!! As always, packed with news (maybe even more so this month) on toys and collection. And as always you are recommended to order the titles here.

HyperHobby:
1. The countdown to the release of Robotmasters, the lineup of the first series expected to come out mid-July. With focus on Optimus Prime/Convoy and Beast Megatron, the article also shows what we previously reported, PsychoOrb's original weapon can combine all the other 3 original weapons to become "Arsenal-Force ".

2. Besides the same background story of Robotmasters (RM) that we have reported before, some explanation of the continuity with existing series was also covered. RM will be in the same universe as the original G1 series, and is expected to take place between the TV series and the Movie. Since G1 and Beast Wars are of the same continuity, but different timeline, RM will share the same universe as BW as well. Although it was intentional to have Binaltech series (BT) shared the same universe as the G1 series, RM tends to create some discrepancy with BT plot development, therefore while they share the same original G1 plot, RM and BT are in parallel universe. Meanwhile, Micron Legend (ML) and Superlink (SL) exist in a completely parallel universe. In short:
G1 -> RM -> TF:Movie ->... eventually BW
G1 -> BT
ML -> SL

3. Superlink DVD vol.3 will be release on 14 Jul.

4. Binaltech Deadend was also featured with some additional background story, a followup of the story where after suffering from the cosmic rust virus, many Autobots were out of action until EDC initiated Binaltech project and revived the Autobots in new bodies, Things were going well until an evil scientist, Dr. Arkabil(?) strike an agreement with Starscream, they managed to slip a spy into EDC and stole the Binaltech technology. Applying the technology to the damaged Decepticons warriors, a new generation of Binaltech Decepticons were thus born... Deadend will be release mid-July.

5. On Superlink: July seem to have an increased number of new items as compared to previously reported...
Overdrive - mid July
WheelJack - mid July
Sprang - late July
Dinobot Magma type - late July
USA edition Strongarm - late July (TF station limited item)
Unicron Black version - late July, limited to 3000 in production.
Pla-kit series 02 Grand Scourge - late July
and in August, USA edition Tow-Line, TRU Japan exclusive)

TV-Boy:
1. As forecasted last month this issue of TV Boy comes with a free Wing Convoy PVC figure. Almost the size of SCF PVC series figure, the figure is colored with some articulation. We are still accepting orders for this issue for those interested in obtaining the figure, while stocks lasts. See more pictures here and here.

TV-Magazine:
1. Sooner or later, it's bound to come... 5 Gold chrome Grand Convoy with Grand force will be the top prize of a coloring contest. It will be a joint campaign by TV-Magazine and Toys'R Us Japan, by coloring the drawing of Wing Convoy and entering the contest, you stand a chance to win one of the following-
Top Prize: Gold Chrome Grand Convoy (5 winners)
TV-Mag Prize: 10 Original Color Grand Convoy that reflect your color (10 winners)
Other prizes also include all ranges of Superlink/TF goods, from stickers to DVD, CD and even the previously released exclusive TRU energy weapons.
TRU Japan will also be accepting entries for the Wing Convoy coloring as well as RM G1 Convoy coloring application, in this case, the 10 original color of Grand Convoy will become 10 original color RM G1 Convoy (featuring the winner's color).
If interested to enter, we might be able to help with some conditions, ask here.

2. [TV series Spoiler - Highlight to read] In the regular Superlink highlights, it seems to forecast that Inferno would be captured by the Decepticons, and it also seems like Galvatron is attempting to convert/"brainwash" Inferno into a Decepticon by changing his allegiance emblem. Led by Wing Convoy, the Autobots pursued the Decepticons onto an "Iron Planet" in order to try and rescue their captured comrade.
Joining in the battle against the Decepticons are 3 new warriors, Sprang, an elderly Autobot and under his command, Overdrive and WheelJack.
Sprang - was described as although an elderly bot in the Autobot ranks, he can still move swiftly and strike at the enemy with deadly force. One of Sprang's special attack is known as "Jet Arm Fire".
Overdrive - not much on him excpet that he joined in the battle under the lead of Sprang and could superlink with Roadbuster and Skyfire, has a cool special attack name though, "Scorpion Tornado"
Wheeljack - besides saying he is a regular speedster, always travelling at top speed when going anywhere, Wheeljack is a high spirit character. Able to superlink with Hotshot and Inferno, his special attack is "Grenade Launcher".

3. This issue of TV-Magazine also comes with a Wing Convoy papercraft figure.

4. Last but not least, next month's TV Magazine will offer to take orders for a TV magazine exclusive Fire SL Convoy, no color pictures or other details were featured, but like the previous TV Magazine ML STD Scourge and ML STD Crystal Convoy, it can be expected Fire SL Convoy will be the repaint of SL Convoy (and perhaps limited to 5000 pieces?) Stay tuned on 31 Jul when the next issue comes out and we bring you more details.

Both TV-Boy and TV-Magazine has also a new ad on Superlink toys, which is now been featured here along with other Superlink promotional articles.

Takara has a site up dedicated to Robotmasters line. Besides the toys introudction and lineup, the site also comes with the comics and story behind Robotmasters. Check it out here.

25 Jun 2004:

It's 25th of the month!! This means Pay Day (in most parts of Japan) and new issues of Dengeki Hobby and Hobby Japan!! As always, packed with pictures and highlights of new and upcoming toys/model kits of this summer, feel free to place a copy of the title here.

Dengeki Hobby:
1. Binaltech BT-06 Tracks will be released in July, same month as BT-05 Deadend.
2. And in 30 Aug, we have the revamped BT-07 Smokescreen being released again, besides some new updated decals, remolded front bumper and roof, Smokescreen now comes equipped with a shoulder launcher. Unfortunately this re-release figure retained the same price as other Binaltech figures.
3. More pictures of Robotmasters series...with a report that Starscream (top left) will be released early August.
4. It's official!! Next month's Dengeki Hobby will comes with exclusive Extremely Small Transfomers VSX set which wil contain Extremely Small Convoy/Optimus Prime and Megatron, in a special packaging that pays homage to the original "Goodbye Convoy" set. Both figures are said to sport minor color differences from the regular releases. Since the beginning of FantoFan, we have offer to bring this title (among others) to Fans, we will of course do the same for this issue (special price US$10 - adjusted by publisher), however, please note that we will be taking preorders on this particular issue this time, preorder starts now and ends on 20 Jul. Magazine will be released on 23-24 Jul. Check out what other titles are there or place Pre-Order here(email).
5. A detail feature on the Pla-kit series no.1 Grand Convoy including tips on painting the kit and assembling.

Hobby Japan:
1. Nothing much on Transformers related, except for pictures on July's releases including Robotmasters, Binaltech and Superlink. For the Robotmasters, you will be able to see the original weapons previously reported are shown. A discrepancy noted from Figure King report is that BM-02 Beast Megatron comes with one original weapon instead of 2... we have yet to confirm which one is correct.

Superlink episode 25, "Swift as Gale!! WingSaber!! " goes on air today. As before we have worked with several sites to bring you some highlights from the episode. We will be providing clip links for the low-res versions here, for both high res and low res, please go to anyone of these,

24 Jun 2004:

It's the day of the month again, the latest issue of a major toy magazine, Figure King, is out. Featuring the the history and toyline on "Sentai" (Power Rangers) as the special this month, it also comes packed with news on upcoming toys including Transformers, You can pick up a copy of the title here.

1. July and August Superlink releases will include;
SC-18 Overdrive, a character who has been active on many battlegrounds, will be out in mid-July.
SC-19 WheelJack, although same name and similar design with the G1 character, Superlink Wheeljack will be potrayed as a speed racer instead of a scientist. To be released early August.
USA edition Tow-Line: TRU Japan will exclusively release him from mid August. Judging from Micron Legend USA edition lineup, the imported characters (or USA edition) are most of the time characters that will not appear in the TV series, if this is true for Superlink too, it could mean Tow-Line, Sharkticon and Strong Arm repaint will not be featured on the TV series.
USA edition Strong Arm: another imported version to be release late July.
TRU Japan WindCharger Anniversary edition Complete campaign will be releasing the second figure, Throttle, the repaint of Charge, from mid August. This is a 3 seasons campaign with the first figure released in Spring, second in Summer and the last figure in Fall.
Some innovative picture on the newly released Wing Saber if you have 2 of them... Double Cannon mode and Double Jet mode.

2. Robotmasters line will begin in July with 10 lineup in the first release, while most of the information has been reported before, there are some new information in the article, such as RM-01 Convoy/Optimus Prime will come with original design weapons, RM-02 Beast Megatron will come with 2 original weapons, RM-03 Rejay (Mirage) will also have an original weapon, RM-04 Wreckgarhook will also have an original chained mace weapon, RM-09 PsychoOrb will be able to combine the 4 original weapons from the other Decepticon figures. No pictures were shown to support the above description though.
Also reported before, to promote the new line, Robotmasters, a lucky draw campaign, "Convoy's Battle Orders", will be held to give away 10 Cybertron base (Brave Maximus) and 100 sets of original color weapons.

3. Binaltech BT-05 Deadend will be released mid July.

4. Transformers collection #14 Hound will be out late July.

A photo gallery on the newly released WingSaber is now online, check it out here!!

Till the end of the week, 20 Jun, we are taking orders for fans interested in picking up a set of this series, case of 12, complete set at US$48. Editors note: Thanks to the great response on the Micron Boosters ver. 2 complete set, we are currently out of stock, order placing will now be back order and availability unconfirmed, however, we have also added another new listing for those who just want the set without the rare chase included, 11 piece regular set at only US$33.
Be sure also to check out the For Sale page for some rare listings including the chase for the Extremely Small Transformers and others soon to be hard to find releases!!

It seems recently there is a toy show for dealers/retailers only in Japan, and in the show many upcoming releases were revealed including of course Transformers, While the show specified that no photos were allowed, some sites managed to obtain some pictures of the show. Some of the major fan sites have this news and links to the pictures, while we cannot post the pictures here, we give you some rumors/information from the show,
1. Takara Transformers collection vol. 16 will be G1 Insecticons, and it will be all 3 (Bombshell, Kickback & Sharpnel)!! Comes with the set will be a new accessory, Energon Cubes!! Expected to release in September.

2. Somewhat reported before, September volume of Dengeki Hobby (released on 24 Jul) will come with an exclusive Extremely Small Transformers VFX set which contains G1 Optimus Prime and G1 Megatron. Expected 200,000 copies of this magazine will be released with the exclusive, as before, we are taking orders for this issue.

3. Pla-Kit series 02 will be Grand Scourge, to be released in July, as with 01 Grand Convoy, we are taking orders.

4. In August we can expect the release of Binaltech 06 Tracks as well as the revamped Smokescreen who now has a shoulder launcher.

5. As with all Terrocons, Chrome Horn will also have a repaint version coming out, while the name has not been confirmed yet, the repaint is mainy Green theme.

6. Superlink Sprang (Energon Bulkhead) might be releasing in July, same month as Superlink WheelJack. Superlink deluxe (and above) packages seem to be going under a change, instead of a closed box, it has reverted back to the early Micron Legend days where they come with a window so the toy can be seen.

7. Another Energy Weapons Campaign can be expected this Summer, details are still vague but it is sure that there will be 2 exclusive energy weapons, from the energy weapon of Signal Flare and Dinbot, in clear yellow and Grey/black respectively. It seems that the exclusive weapons are limited to purchase of Grand Convoy and Wing Saber only.

8. Unconfirmed rumor has it that DreadWing and Smokescreen will be released in September under the Robotmasters series and in November, Star Saber and Victory Leo, also under the Robotmasters banner(?)

We will provide you with more report when the official news and pictures are released. Credt to: Autobase Aichi and 2005boards.com for the news and description.

As promised, check out the pictures on the new Superlink catalogue that comes with the latest releases, Chrome Horn, Ariel and Shock Fleet!! Included on the catalogue is the third original Superlink comic, however, instead of Dreamwave's work like in the first 2 stories, this one was done by none other than Tsushima Naoto, the artist that did TF: Stargate Battle (in Super Robot Magazine) and the recently release Pla-Kit series exclusive comic, Convoy vs Scourge!! We provided a "rough" translation of the comic here. Enjoy!!

To help collectors obtain the elusive chases, we have managed to secure a few sets. What follow are spoilers (from TV Magazine), highlight if you want to read... And you can order any one of the titles here.
- The body part of Unicron will be repaired, activated, and turned on Cybertron, using Energon grid on Cybertron, Team Convoy was able to retaliate against the incomplete Unicron (and the Decepticons within). Pic here
- Laserwave was actually a prisoner been locked up on Cybertron after the war, but he managed to escape and joined Galvatron.
- The profile of Laserwave described him as a ruthless Decepticon feared even by his own comrades, for now although he served under Galvatron, Laserwave has an agenda of his own. Pic
here.
-
One of Laserwave's abilities, Optical Gazer, is able to penetrate any armor and can strike long distances without diminishing destructive power. The only weakness is that it requires time to charge up. Pic here
-
A rather detail introduction was featured on a new character, "Wing-Dagger", a Cybertron warden in charge of the prison holding Laserwave. An Autobot loyal to his duties, which is why Laserwave's escape prompted him to actively join in the war with the Decepticons. (Editor: Pre-Wingsaber??)

Latest issue of Hyper Hobby was released today, with some new updates on Transformers Superlink series,

2. A picture of Superlink Galvatron (Energon Megatron) with his minions, Shadowhawk and Jaguar drones. This might provide another reference for the size difference rumor on Superlink and Energon versions. Although the article did not specific that the Galvatron in the picture is the Energon version or the Superlink version.
3. A detail report on Superlink Cliffjumper (Energon Perceptor) was also featured, the report stated that the picture featured is a US version (Energon version) and Superlink version is expected to have some paint scheme differences (shoulders and some other parts).
4. A picture of Kicker, based on the 2003 mold from Takara's other popular line, Microman. The single figure package will contain not only the Transformers logo but as well as Microman logo, denoting 20th anniversary of Transformers as well as 30th anniversary of Microman. Expected to release end of March, more info on the special giftset in the next issue, but it was hinted that there might be some difference in the paint schemes as well as accessories.

24 Jan 2004:

Latest issue of Figure King was out today, in it are some new information on Transformers.
1. With Micron Legend vol.10 out in a few days, it also completes the Aqua Raider team. Now with vol.11, comes a new micron team repaint, and this last DVD exclsuive micron team is the repaint of Emergency Team, Hazard Team, and vol.11 comes with KingBolt (closest localization) a repaint of Prowl.

2. The chase of the upcoming Extremely Small Transformers series 2 has been confirmed to be Bluestreak/Silverstreak. Pic here.

3. As reported previously, Superlink SD-07 Galvatron will be release late Feb. But there is an interesting point made, the picture featured was emphasized that it is a prototype, and because of final adjustment on the gimmicks are still underway, the vehicle mode could not be shown. Although like Dengiki Hobby, it did mentioned sound and light up effects are plan to be included.

4. Closeup picture of SD-08 Shadowhawk and SC-09 Cliffjumper (Hopper as the bike, Charge as the buggy and Runway as the Hovercraft).

5. Other report includes Takara reissue vol.12 Minibot Team will be release end of Jan. Order your copy of this latest issue here.

TFW2005.com has posted an interesting news on the upcoming Energon Megatron, in that Hasbro version will be larger than his Japanese counterpart, Superlink Galvatron. And the difference in size would be as high as 20%, this could very mean that the Superlink version would be one with a different mold as the Energon version, with a lower price point and perhaps less (or none) sound and light gimmicks. Go here for the full news piece (or the discussion thread here). Credt to: TFW2005
An update on the report from Figure King, it was stated that the sound gimmick would be in the small tank with Superlink Galvatron, if sound effects is still in the smaller Takara version, can the electronics fit into the even smaller tank now? I guess we will confirm this when Superlink Galvatron release in Feburary.

Due to the sheer amount of traffic, we have no choice but to temporary take down those (high res) video clips for now. As soon as we find more mirror sites to host them, we will let you know. For any fan sites out there interested to host the files, please let us know, admin@fantofan.com, we will be glad to include your credits into them and FTP to you. We apologized for this inconvenience (but Thanks for the great reponses!) and we will keep updating the screenshots gallery.
